Jim played Club Soccer for the Santa Anita Soccer Club from 1985 to 1987.  He played forward at La Salle High School and named All Santa Fe League in 1987 & 1988.   His college career started at East Lost Angeles City College.  During the time he played at East Los Angeles CC, he was named Captain, to the All Conference 2nd Team and the team was State Campions (record  24-0).  Jim had 13 goals and 27 assists.  In 1991 & 1992,  Jim played forward & mid-field at San Diego State.  Jim participated in the Invitational Tryouts: MISL-San Diego Sockers, Sacramento Knights  A-League- Cape Cod Crusaders, Hawaii Tsunami, El Paso Patriots and other  "Semi Pro" Teams.

Jim’s coaching experience includes numerous years at the College, High School and Club levels.  At the College level Jim held the following positions:  East Los Angeles CC- Asst Women’s Coach (1996), San Diego State University- Asst. Men’s Coach (1997-1998), Loyola Marymount University- Volunteer Asst. Men’s Coach (1998-2003).  He also held the following High School positions: La Salle High School Boys JV & Varsity Asst (1993-1994), Serra High School (San Diego) Boys Varsity  (1997-1998) and he has been the West Torrance Girls Varsity coach since 2001.  Additionally, Jim has many years of Club coaching experience:  Aztec Hearts GU18 (1993-1994), Santa Anita Soccer Club BU19 Gold  (1994-1997), Santa Monica United BU16 (2002-2003), South Bay SC BU14 (2003-2005).  Jim has been a FRAM CQ coach since 2005.  He has additional experience doing personal training for several very talented soccer players including  6 current Division 1 players and 2 Division 2 and an U18 National Team Captain and 2 National Pool Players.
