August 9, 2009:  The team opened up their 2009/10 tournament season against last year’s North vs South champions, Los Gatos SC, on Saturday morning. After controlling the majority of the game, however, Fram was only able to score once on a goal by Jackie McGuinness.  Los Gatos scored twice and ended up beating us, 2-1.

Game 2: Fram faced the Bakersfield Gunners, another fellow Cal South opponent.  Fram fell behind early, 0-1, but came back very strong in the 2nd half when Jamee Lamers scored off a nice Free Kick just outside the 18.  Shortly afterwards, Jenny Rheingold collected a long ball and made a nice pass to Kyla Diekmann.  Kyla made an incredible shot to give us a 2-1 lead!   She wasn’t done, though, as she later passed the ball to Jackie McGuinness who tapped in our third and final goal of the match.  Fram won, 3-1.

Game 3: Sunday morning’s first opponent was against Odyssey SC.  Fram was able to display a lot of nice passing across & up the field, and they were able to put on a nice offensive showing, too, as Ellen Craparo, Kyla Diekmann, Kylie Butler, Erin Discipulo & Jamee Lamers all scored wonderful goals.  Not to be outdone, however, the defense of Nichola Mottram, Kendra Delgado, Jamee Lamers & Kiyomi Mitsuda played great and recorded their first shutout of the new season.  Fram won, 5-0.

Game 4: Fram played their last game against the tournament host team, San Luis Obispo.  Although Fram controlled the game right away, SLO started to find some of their rhythm and made it a tough match.  Fortunately, Erin Discipulo made a great shot in the second half and Fram would go on to win, 1-0.

The Fram GU15 team ended up taking 1st in this tournament.  Congratulations to coach Brian Boswell and the players for a job well done all weekend!
