Tryouts/Recruiting:
Thank you for your interest in the Fram CQ GU-14 team. We are always open to evaluating prospective players, and are looking to add 2-3 girls during the 2010/2011 winter/spring season who have a long term interest in our team and can help us maintain or improve our high quality of play. Our goal is to maintain a roster of up to 16-17 players. We prefer to have new players work out with us a number of times to get a thorough assessment of their abilities, and it provides an opportunity for the player and parents to get comfortable with our team. We are looking for players who are talented enough to compete for a starting position, and will fit with our team chemistry and personality. Therefore, we would like the player to commit to participate in multiple workouts.
This is a very special team. We strive to play very competitive soccer while maintaining a family environment. The core of our team has been together for three years, some even longer. You will find that the parents are a great group, and while we vary in our level of intensity on the sideline, we have similar goals for the team. There are very little politics for a club sport, and as a result you will find the families and, more importantly, the girls all get along. Team chemistry is important to our coaches and our families, given the amount of time we spend together. We understand family schedule conflicts, but expect and get consistent attendance at practices, league games and tournaments. Our team enjoys being together, so practices are well attended, fun and competitive. At the same time, the girls strive to improve their soccer, and always play to win and advance.
We practice one to three times per week at different times of the year, and take two to three short breaks from soccer per year to keep the girls excited about soccer and healthy. After every season, there is a potential to move some players from the Silver Elite team and offer them a spot with the Bronze team. We may also invite a few girls to play with us in the winter tournaments as guests, all with the goal of recruiting and improving. No one is guaranteed a spot for 2010/2011 until our final CSL roster is submitted, and changes and additions may occur up until the roster freeze date of 7/31/10. However, it is our goal to have a very good sense of the roster by spring 2010, with any late changes consisting of filling open slots, our mutually agreed upon transfers between Fram teams. We will start evaluating/inviting potential players to join us for practices commencing in January and continue through May. Any girls added to our roster by July 31, 2010 will become full-time Fram team members, and will be guaranteed a roster spot through February, 2011.
